Sometimes stepping back is the thing to do, even as your mind and heart are yelling at you to keep changing! Keep editing! Keep cutting! Keep adding! But your gut knows best, so do what it tells you. I know what you've been through with this story and how flippin' HARD you've worked on it, and I also know how great a writer you are so I'm certain one day you'll hear that internal "click," open that file, start typing, and knock that mother out of the park! Remember, I killed my story so bad and had to walk away and leave it broken and bleeding for quite a while. But one day I felt the need to at least look at it again and when I did all the pieces fell into place. And now...well, you know! You've worried over Remembrance so much that both you and it need a break. It'll happen again. It will.
